The Blue Circle is a Singapore-based renewable energy company that focuses on developing utility-scale wind energy projects in Southeast Asia.

To assist us in our growing activities, we are looking for an Intern to join our Wind Engineering team in our Singapore office. As the only regional wind project developer in Southeast Asia with an in-house wind engineering team, this internship represents a rare opportunity to gain an understanding of wind project engineering and development in a dynamic region.

Under the guidance and supervision of the Chief Development Officer, the Intern will:

  • Identify and assess potential sites for development of wind power projects
  • Design wind farms and carry out energy calculations
  • Analyse data measured by wind monitoring equipment
  • Provide technical guidance to our local development teams
  • Conduct site visits to determine site suitability
  • Photograph sites and design photomontages (visualisation) of turbine layout
  • Assist in other tasks, including technical and policy research, preparation of reports and similar work whenever necessary

  • Postgraduate or final-year undergraduate student in a science or engineering course (renewable energy, aerospace, physics, atmospheric sciences or another related field)
  • Expertise in fluid mechanics, aerodynamics or computational fluid dynamics ideal
  • Experience with GIS and basic knowledge of Sketchup and Photoshop desirable
  • Comfortable with using complex software - training will be provided on industry-standard programs (WaSP, Windfarmer, Openwind, Windographer etc.)
  • Fluency in English necessary; knowledge of a Southeast Asian language relevant to our countries of operation would be an asset
  • Willing to travel within the SEA region for occasional short trips lasting up to a week
  • Able to commit for at least three months
  • Strong personal & professional ethics
  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
