Singapore, August 2025 - The Blue Circle and ACCIONA Energía have completed a reorganization of their partnership, with each of the companies focusing on different markets.
The restructuring will allow The Blue Circle to operate independently, focusing on Emerging Asia with active projects in Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Cambodia, including the Kouprey wind farm (150 MW), planned to start construction in 2026, which will be the company’s largest project in its 13 years of history. The Blue Circle is also planning to expand and open an office in Sri Lanka following the restructuring.
The transaction will see the ownership of renewable energy project portfolio in the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam to be transferred to Acciona Energia. With this decision, The Blue Circle has achieved a significant financial milestone and have the capacity to finance its future growth.
Mr. Olivier Duguet, Co-Founder and CEO of The Blue Circle, announced this new phase in the company’s history: “I am glad to report that we have reached an agreement with ACCIONA Energia which will allow us to continue to be one of the leading and longest standing Renewable Independent Power Producer in Southeast Asia. The Blue Circle will keep its pioneering spirit with an exceptional track record and seasoned management team, implementing sustainable practices in every aspect of our developments. After this transaction, the group is debt free and ideally positioned to fully participate in the construction of a carbon free Emerging Asia.”
